This article tells you how to download Youtube or any video hosting website contents without using any external software. I know that many of you know how to do this. But this is for those who don't know that yet.
Things you need
1. Any browser.I'm using FireFox for this article.
2. FLV codecs installed in your computer. For flash format files to be played in it.
3. The site from which you're going to download the video
Thats it.
Let's start downloading
1.First open the video, which you want to download and wait for it to finish loading. You might have noticed that you can navigate in between the video after it finished loading. This is because your browser has Cached it.Remember, do not close the window or tab that has the loaded video. The browser deletes the cached file as soon as you close the window or tab.
2.1 If you're using Internet explorer, browse to the "temp" folder in %systemroot%/Program files/Microsoft Internet Explorer. There you can see a 5 mb or 10 mb file. Copy and paste it to some other location. The folder may have changed, I've not used IE in a long time.
2.2 If you're using a Linux distro it's much, much easier. Browse to "tmp" folder in your FIle system and you get the flash file. Copy and paste it to some other location.Like I said you need .flv codecs to play them in your computer.
2.3 For firefox, in Windows. Browse to %systemroot%/Documents and Settings/%username%/Local Settings/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/ .default/Cache/ and theres your video file waiting for you to rescue it from the evil Cache folder which is going to delete it as soon as you close the browser. How cruel!
